Meet Our July Employee of the Month, Jennifer Garcia Viteri

A Los Angeles Attorney Shares Legal Advice On Reopening Safely!

Jennifer Garcia Viteri is our Employee of the Month for July!

Jennifer started working for Culinary Staffing Service as a Human Resources Generalist in January of this year, making her one of our newest employees. Her prior HR experience was at a frozen foods manufacturing company, where she also assisted with their safety protocol division.

We asked Jennifer what she enjoys about her job, and we have to say her enthusiasm is contagious.

“I enjoy everything about my job, assisting employees, assisting our admin staff, and everything in between!”

It’s great to be able to do what you love. So what does a typical day look like for an HR Generalist at Culinary Staffing? Jennifer says that each day varies somewhat except for the payroll process, which is always the same and is very meticulous work.

It’s meticulous work that a lot of people are becoming more and more interested in, so we asked her advice for those who may be exploring a career path in HR. What skills would they need to succeed?

“They need to be able to be unbiased, and stick to the facts. For someone that is just starting out, I recommend getting a position as an admin assistant to gain the experience. Once they have the experience, they can move up the ladder if they are given the opportunity. Some other skills that would be needed for this position are organizational skills, customer service, attention to detail, and knowledge about labor laws.”

Solid advice from n expert! And now for one more question. Because you know we MUST ask Jennifer what restaurant(s) she frequents. We are a Culinary Staffing agency, so food is near and dear to all our hearts.

“I am from the San Fernando Valley, but recently for my wedding anniversary we went to Kali in Los Angeles and it was incredible! But my go-to in my neighborhood is Maru Ramen. My family really enjoys their ramen and bowls.”

We’ll be checking out both of those. Thank you and congratulations, Jennifer!
